This initial video is a design tip using Adobe Illustrator’s artboard tool. It’s not flashy, but shows the best and most direct way to edit the artboard to fit the graphic or file you’re working with at any given moment.
If it’s a tool I use 3-4 times a week as a web developer I figure it can benefit graphic designers and front-end devs alike.
Expect there to be more of these Adobe related tutorials for Design Time Thursday in the future. Don’t forget to subscribe to the Code Improv YouTube channel to stay current with the latest updates.
I’ve also established the @CodeImprov twitter page and am dishing out the best daily social media and design tips circulating the interwebs to go along with some random thought bubbles and my own experiences.
See below for the tweet showcasing my screen recording process (includes Apple Macbook Pro, Screenflow & Audio Technica AT2020):

The time has finally come for me to unveil one of numerous planned changes to the Code Improv website: a weekly video series!
The gameplan is to release three (yes — THREE) videos a week based on the knowledge I’ve gained in three similar, but different fields.
Tuesdays will be Social Tip Tuesday, Wednesdays will showcase WordPress Wednesdays and Thursdays wrap up with Design Time Thursday.
They may not be the most clever titles for a video series, but each clearly conveys what the day will provide: social media tips, WordPress tricks and general design tutorials.
My goal is to keep the videos right around 3 minutes in length. Any longer than that and you start to lose audience focus and attention span. Any shorter and I can’t convey the tip in detail.
